Dollhouse Miniature January 2024 Blind Bags

This week I have another batch of blind bags to open for you. This batch was ordered on October 27^th with an expected delivery date no later than December 26^th. They arrived on November 24^t well before the expected date. This is another of the Cup Model sets, which are my one of my favorites. The cost was under $3 for the set of 10 blind bags.

So lets look at the contents of each blind bag and I’ll give you my thoughts about each one.

 

 

1- clear “glass” mug, this is really cool and unlike most of the mugs we get in these sets we will be able to showcase a fun drink in it and actually see what it looks like. I’m thinking some kind of coffee drink with layers would be a lot of fun. The quality of this mug is very nice and as far as I remember this is the first clear mug we have gotten.

 

2- I was so sure I had hit record on the camera before I opened this one and only found out I didn’t when I was getting ready to edit the video. Since the contents of this bag are the same as one that is coming up (# 7) I’ll tell you about it when we open that one.

 

 

 

3- I would call this shape wine glass a red wine glass and I think we have several of these now. I am planning to fill some of the wine glasses soon. I just need to get some supplies ordered first.

 

 

 

4- another footed glass this time one that is more suited to holding some champagne for a special occasion in the dollhouse.

 

 

 

 

 

 

5- I absolutely love these “cut glass” looking glasses. They pick up the light so nicely and are just really pretty.

 

 

 

 

6- I also refer to this shape wine glass as a white wine glass because of the slightly taller skinnier shape. Again I can’t wait to start filling some of these in future videos.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7- this is the blind bag that held the same object as the one I managed to miss filming. They are large glasses with tops that have a hole for a straw. I am thinking we need to make the dolls some bubble tea for at least on of these.

 

 

 

8- another repeat, this time we get another white wine glass. I actually am very happy to get repeats in these pieces because that just means we can make more beverages for the dolls and still have more to fill the cabinets in the dollhouse.

 

 

 

 

9- these amber color glasses that we get in the blind bags are like taking a trip back in time to when I was growing up. I think everyone’s mom had a set of these in their kitchen back in the day.

 

 

 

 

10- this to-go coffee cup with the lid is a first in the bags and I am really excited to see it. I do think I will paint it to make the details show up better but it is really cool. And so many of us do have this style cup at our side a lot anymore. (mine is sitting next to me filled with hot tea as I prepare to edit the video and get this post written)

 

So what are my thoughts on the items we got in today’s blind bags? I am very happy we got some more of the some of my favorite pieces for previous sets. We also got a couple of new pieces and I am very excited to see new things showing up. I love the idea of cups with lids, that is going to add some new possibilities of what we can do with those pieces.

Again, I am sorry I missed filming the second bag. Not sure what happened because I was sure I had hit record but apparently I didn’t since there was o clip for that one. Thankfully it was the same as #7 so you got to see me open that one at least.

I also want to take a couple of moments to compare these to the pieces I recently hauled from Temu. Overall the quality is the same. The big difference is that these don’t require me to clean off the little bits of plastic from the molding process. They are all cleaned up and ready to use unlike the pieces from Temu. Once cleaned up I don’t think anyone could tell the difference between them.

So I guess the big question would be is it worth it to pay a few cents more to get the pieces ready to use. I will probably keep buying from both places for the foreseeable future. There are pluses to both sources. I do love opening the blind bags so much, it’s like opening up birthday or Christmas presents. The surprise is really fun. I do love that I have little or no work to do with the pieces before I use the. On the other hand. On Temu I can see pretty much what I am going to get (I think I had a couple of substitutions from the picture in mine) so if you are looking for a certain piece you are more apt to get it there. Also the price is much lower on Temu and they come much quicker, normally I get them in about a week as opposed to the month that the blind bags normally take.

Dollhouse Miniature December 2023 Blind Bags

I have another set of blind bags to open for you today. This set of 10 blind bags were titled as being “Mini food bottles”. I ordered them on October 27 and arrived on November 24, well ahead of the last expected delivery date of Jan 3. I paid around $3 for the set. And like all the blind bags I have shared on my channel I got these from eBay. If you are interested in how I search for the blind bags I show on here I wrote a blog post complete with screen shots of the steps I use to search for them. You can find that post here.

1-The first bag was a bottle of booze and since I had no idea what it was I did Google it just now. Apparently it is a brand of Vodka so now we all know. I do love getting the different shaped bottles in these sets and this one has a nice shape and is fairly well detailed. The cap of the bottle especially has some nice detail in the way of texture.

 

 

2- the bottle of Orange Fanta, a real favorite of mine when I was a kid for sure. The bottle measures in at just over 1 ¼” tall so in real life that would 15” so I think we can call that in scale for a large bottle of soda. This one is going to look great in the fridge of the dollhouse or staged in a scene somewhere.

 

3- our first flat back in the set, this one is a doughnut shape. I think this would be a fun cake for a bakery. It will need some tweaks to the paint job. It is just over ½” in diameter so a bit over 6” in size. A cute but smaller cake.

 

 

4- flat backed french fries. This one will probably either end up as decoration on a sign or as a shaped cake in a bakery scene. It is cute so it has that going for it.

 

 

 5-another flat back this time a slice of pizza, again it might be usable as one of those cool cakes that look like something else.

 

 

 

6- the flat back shampoo bottle. This one does have some possibilities, if it were to be stuck in the corner of a shower in a dollhouse bathroom it might actually pass as a bottle of shampoo.

 

 7- rainbow flat back, this one again could be turned into a cake with very little work. In fact I’m pretty sure I

I've seen a cake that looks just like this one in a real bakery. It would also look kind of cool as wall art especially in a kid’s room scene.

8- the sushi piece, this one is in my opinion the real clunker in the entire set. The colors are awful and it is huge compared to the other pieces. I might have to set myself the challenge of figuring out how to use this and have it make sense.

 

9- the baby bottle flat back. This one is pretty small and could be a cute cake or maybe put on top of a clay cake as decoration. It could also be used as a wall decoration or on a sign for a mini baby shop.

 

 

10-the bottle of pink soda, I looked it up and it looks like the Coca-cola company makes this non-carbonated soda in Japan. It looks really cool and I am going to definitely put it in the fridge in the dollhouse.

 

 

 

So my overall thoughts on the things I got in this batch of blind bags. I will be truthful and say I am a bit disappointed in the content of the bags this time. Way too many flat back pieces. Although that being said I can see a lot of these as cakes in a mini bakery scene so that could be a lot of fun for future projects. The three bottles are really what I was hoping for and I am very happy with those.

Dollhouse Miniature November 2023 Blind Bags

Today I have another set of blind bags that I purchased off of eBay to share with you. This set was labeled just as “Dollhouse Miniature Accessories” this is a type we have had mixed luck with in the past so stay tuned to see how it went this time. I paid around $3 for this set and ordered them on October 27^th, with an expected delivery to be before January 3^rd. They arrived to me on November 22^nd, so well before the projected last day.

1- the first bag I opened contained a mini drinking glass with a honeycomb design. I am fairly certain we have gotten at least of few of these in other sets. But if you have watched my other blind bag openings you know that items like glassware I really do like to get in multiples of so I am good with this one.

 

 

 

 

 

2- bag #2 held an ice cream cone, I don’t remember ever getting one of these before in a blind bag and I love it. It could use a bit of shading to give it a bit more pizzazz but I love just as is.

 

 

 

 

3- the third bag had a cute little bottle with no label. It is certainly easy enough to create a label to add to the bottle and then I can make it be whatever I want it to be very easily.

 

 

 

 

4- we found a Coca-cola bottle in the 4^th bag. We are getting a nice collection of these coke bottles and I am so happy. I love to add them to a table next to a chair here and there. It instantly looks like someone was just there and will be coming back in a moment. A very quick way to add some life to a mini scene.

 

5- bag #5 contained a really fun fall looking box. I am going to try to remember to put this into my box of fall dollhouse decorations so we can do a make-over on it next year. I think once the leaves get a bit of paint and the box a bit of shading it will look wonderful holding some fall leaves or flowers in the dollhouse.

6- I think this is a passport, at least that is my guess from looking inside. It is really cool and I am sure I will figure out a use for it someday.

 

 

 

7- the corkscrew, this is one of my favorite mini items that I get from time to time in these blind bags. They look really nice when placed with a mini bottle of wine and some wine glasses.

 

 

 

 

 

8- the little yellow toned bottle in this bag is so cute. I am looking forward to deciding what it is and designing a label for it.

 

 

 

 

9- the expensive looking perfume bottle, not the first one of these we’ve gotten but I do love them and I think in the bathroom or bedroom of the dollhouse it will look right at home.

 

 

10- those glasses!!! We get these all the time and they are so ridiculous. They are huge for the scale and we are getting a collection of them. I know several of you have had some fun ideas of what to do with them and one day maybe we should play around with them for fun.

.

So to recap, the thing that stands out most to me is that although some of the pieces are repeats from previous sets we got no duplicates within this set of blind bags. That is rare. Also we got a few items that were totally new so that is also exciting. I do have to say I was apprehensive about this set because of our past experience with other sets with the same title but this set was really fun and I am very happy I grabbed it.

Dollhouse Miniature September 2023 Blind Bags

I have another set of blind bags for you today, I ordered this set on July 27^th and they arrived to me on August 20^th. This set was labeled as “Dollhouse Cup Models” and the cost was a bit under $3 (USD).

I have a step by step blog post detailing how I search on eBay for the blind bags which can be found here.

 

1) the first bag we opened today contained one of the oversize glasses, these could be a large drinking glass or a small flower vase in the dollhouse. I will most likely use them both ways in future projects.

 

 

2) The second bag had one of the cute smaller drinking glasses with a cut glass” type finish. I love these and I can’t wait to use them in future mini scenes

 

 

3) This bag had one of the wine glasses that I love to get. I think they will look very nice in many scenes in future projects.

 

 

 4) The 4^th bag had one of the large steins/small pitchers in it. I have collected multiples of this piece and I really need to experiment to see if I can fashion a “pouring spout” on the top edge of one of them.

 

 

5) I would call this one a beer stein for sure, I do love the texture of the outside f it and I think it would look wonderful filled and ready for the dolls to have a drink from.

 

 

6) The 6^th bag contained another of my favorites in this category the small blue glass. I love the color and the faux “cut glass” design. This set will look right at home in the Beachside Bungalow.

 

7) This one I can’t remember if we have gotten before and at the time I am writing this I haven’t had time to go look. I do think this gold piece of stemware will look wonderful in a hutch or similar display area. Maybe as a keepsake from a special occasion.

 

8) This is another piece that could be used in a couple of different ways either as a large glass or as a small vase. I do like the clean plain design of this one.

 

9) A repeat of #7, I think this makes it even more perfect to put in a display as a keepsake.

10) This bag contained a repeat of #2 and since it is such a basic glass it is perfect to have many of.

So time for my final thoughts. We only had two repeats in this set and both are ones that I am pretty sure I will use. I already have a few ideas of what I want to do with some of the pieces. I need to get some supplies (some will be new to me so that should be fun) before I can do what I want to do.
