Dollhouse Miniature Another Temu Tableware Review

Watch the video here.

Last week’s Temu haul had so many items I decided to do this set as a separate video even though I had purchased both at the same time.

This set is all clear plastic and was labeled as basically a 15 piece set of tableware, cups, and dishes. Here is a screenshot of the listing so you can see exactly what it is called in case you want to find it for yourself.

At the price of $1.29 it is extremely inexpensive and I was hoping it would be similar to the pieces we get in the blind bags from eBay.

So let’s look at each piece and see what I think and get a closer look.

1- I think I’ll just refer to this one as a vase, it is simply too large to be anything else in my opinion. But as a vase I think it will be absolutely gorgeous.

2- this stein is similar if not the same as some we have gotten in blind bags. I do love the way these look and the size is really good for the dollhouse world.

3- this large footed bowl I am sure is the same as some from the blind bags. I think it will look wonderful filled with some kind of food on a dollhouse table.

4- after looking more closely at this piece and at the photo on Temu, I think this might be a lid for one of the containers. It does seem to fit the skinny pitcher almost perfectly.

5- this clear fluted bowl is so pretty in person I hope the camera picks up on the details. I think this one will look lovely with a fruit salad or something similar in it.

6- I have to admit I am a bit stumped as to what to use this pretty footed bowl for.

7- this skinny pitcher is really pretty and modern looking with it’s simple clean lines. I think it will look really nice in several different settings.

This is the one that what I am assuming is a lid (#4) fits.

8- this small plate will be fun to fill with either a dessert or a salad. A very useful piece to add to the collection.

9- So what do we call this one and how do we use it? To me it looks like a dish you would get an ice cream sundae in but I think it’s way too big for that.

10- The heart shaped cup is really cute. I can’t see it being very practical in real life but in the mini world that isn’t really an issue.

11- This large pitcher really appeals to me. I love the size and the shape of it and it looks like it needs to be in a party scene.

12- the wine glass. In real life I really don’t like glassware that flares out at the top like this one does but again in mini those things don’t matter.

13- this plant pot is one of my favorites in this set. It is just a simple plant pot but that is really appealing to me. It is clear so it will need to be painted to make it look the part but this is going to be a fun project in the future.

14- so is it a lid to something or is it a candy dish. I don’t see any items in this set that it would really fit as a lid. At least not any where it would stay on by itself and not have to be glued. I suppose it could be displayed sitting next to item #15 but then I would probably loose it. I think I will use it as a candy dish unless I can figure where it is supposed to go.

15- I do love this sweet little dish it has some wonderful details molded into it.

It is almost the right size for #14 to be a lid for it but just not close enough for it to stay on by itself.

Now for a few of my thoughts, first I know that here in the US buying from Temu is a bit controversial. I am not going to enter into that discussion other than acknowledge it this one time. I really see it as no different that buying the same items off eBay shipped from Asia.

I will continue to purchase from both as long as the quality stays as it is or gets better and the prices stay low. I can get a lot for my money from these sources.

I also purchase items made in the US as well as items from Europe and elsewhere.

Compared to the blind bags these are cheaper and you do get a better idea of what you are going to get. I did take a closer look at the listing photo and I think I have a couple of different ones from the photo but I am not positive. For the most part I got what is in the picture. These also arrive much faster than the blind bags of eBay.

But, for me these are not nearly as much fun because I really have come to love opening all those little bags in the blind bag sets. It’s a lot like Christmas and it is so much fun to try to guess what is inside each bag before I open it.

Dollhouse Miniature 3-D Christmas Tree

Watch the video here.

Let’s take a moment to talk about today’s project. I keep seeing these little 3-D trees all over my social media feeds. They seem to normally be made of wood and I see them both painted and left as the natural wood color. I thought since they are so popular in real life the dollhouse family should get some too.

So I have another free pattern for you to download so you make the project. You can find the file here. In the download there are 3 files: a PDF for hand-cutting of the pieces, a PNG to use with your electronic cutting machine and a text file with handy hints and tips (and the sizing information) to use the PNG.

As with most of these projects I cut all the pieces from medium weight white card-stock, the kind used to make cards and such. This is way more economical than having to purchase a bunch of colors and in my experience the paint colors are a lot more stable than the paper colors. I rarely get noticeable fading with the painted projects.

You are free to use the pattern as many times as you wish and even to sell the finished project. But, please don’t give away or sell my patterns. I spend a lot of time creating them and the only compensation I get is from people watching the videos and checking out the blog post. I really want to keep offering these for free so please if someone else wants to make one send them to the video and blog so they can get their own copy of the pattern.

This project is pretty simple with only two shapes for each tree and 3 layers of each shape. I decided to make 3 sizes because that seems to be how most people are showing off the real ones. Once you have your pieces cut you simply need to glue the units together like I show in the video. When you are done you should have these 6 units. To glue I like to use a nice thick Tacky glue and apply a thin even coat with a toothpick. Once glued I would suggest putting these under a weight to help them stay flat until they get at least part way dry. Once they pieces are completely dry we can move on to assembly.

The assembly for this project is really simple because now all we need to do is add glue and slip the slotted units together to form a tree shape. Once the are put together look at them from different angles to make sure they are standing straight and let the glue dry. If you have a huge empty space in the center just add a bit more glue to the area to fill it. I didn’t have any problems with the ones I made on camera but the one I made before filming to test the pattern had a large gap in the center.

Once the glue dries we can paint our trees, you can use any color you want on your trees. I just went with a very boring bright green but I’ve seen these in many colors. A lot of people are just leaving the real ones plain wood and you can get that look with a light beige paint. If you want yours white I would still paint it to help disguise the layers of card stock.

I do like to use some really sticky double sided tape to temporarily attach the trees to craft sticks. This adds a handle to the tree and makes it so much easier to paint them.

Once the paint dries a quick coat of Satin Mod Podge will finish off the trees and make them look really nice.

Then all you need to do is pop them off the craft stick and display them in the dollhouse.

Dollhouse Miniature Temu Tableware Review

Watch the video here.

I recently ordered this set of Dollhouse Miniature Tableware from Temu. I wasn’t sure what to expect since the reviews on the site were mixed. But for the price I couldn’t resist, $2.48 for 32 pieces. I knew there had to be at least a few pieces that would be usable in the dollhouse and in projects here in the channel. Now since this package has 32 pieces the video is a bit longer than I try to have for these midweek videos but at the same time I want to keep the review/haul type videos on the midweek slot. Also the end of the video is a bit rushed because my camera decided to flash it’s “low battery” warning at me and I have been having a lot of problems with getting the battery to charge lately so I needed to finish before it died.

So let’s look at what I got in this rather big bag of miniature tableware.

1- the first thing I pulled out of the bag was this serving size bowl. It has a rather wide rim but I know I’ve seen bowls this size in real size. It measures 1” in diameter and about ¼” tall. So a really nice size for a serving bowl.

2- this large mixing bowl is about 1” in diameter again and ½” deep so it translates to about the size of my real life bowl I make bread in. I love the curved shape of this bowl.

3- the medium size leaf platter is so cute! I love the shape and I can’t wait to fill it with some kind of mini food. It is about 1” long and not quite ¾” wide.

4- is this deep oval bowl I guess is what I’ll call it. It is just over 1” in length and just under ¾” in width. I think it would make a really nice bread/dinner roll serving container.

5- the octagonal plate would look really nice filled with a serving of miniature pasta.

6- this small curved rectangular plate would look perfect on a table with cranberry sauce on it for a mini Thanksgiving dinner. Or fill it with olives or small pickles. I love this one too.

7-
this is a slightly larger version of #6 and I love it just as much. I can see these being used together on some kind of meat and cheese display with maybe some kind of pickles or olives or something on them. This one is 1” by 5/8”.

8- this large serving bowl would look perfect with a big salad in it on the doll’s table for a dinner. The bowl is about 7/8” in diameter at the top and ½” deep so the perfect size for a nice salad.

9- is a medium size mixing bowl that matches the first bowl we looked at. This one is ¾” in diameter so I will fit nicely nested inside the larger on or displayed on its own with something in it or empty.

10- this platter reminds me of some of the ones I used to see at the big Asian grocery store in Portland. I think this would look really nice filled with some kind of Asian food on the table. It measures 1 ¼” by 7/8” so it will definitely feed the entire family.

11- I’m not sure what to call this bowl, it has such a pretty shape and it is going to look so good with the right food in it. It is 1” in diameter and stands ½” tall.

12- this slightly rounded square platter is another one that is going to look really good with some kind of food on it. I think this one might just be perfect for a large piece of meat of some kind at the center of a dinner spread. It is about 1 ¼” wide.

13- I’m going to call this one a deep round platter, so I am going to have to do some thinking as to what I want to use it for. Remember if you have ideas for any of these let me know what you think would work.

14- this one could be either a serving tray or a mini baking sheet. It measures 1” by 1 3/8” so a really good size for either application we just would need to paint it to represent what we want.

15-this small bowl matches #8 and would be great either serving something small or as a cereal/soup bowl. It measures about ½” wide by ¼” deep.

16- this large octagon shaped plate will look great with food served on it. It measures 1 ¼” across.

17- I am in love with this divided serving platter. I have always wanted one in real life and I can’t wait to play with this for the dollhouse. It measures just under 1 ½” in diameter so a perfect size for this type of platter.

18- I’m going to call this one a deep oval platter, it measures about 1 3/8” by 1” and would look great with a miniature roast surrounded by veggies in the center of the dining room table.

19- this deep rectangular platter is the same size as the oval one we just looked at. And I think it would also look marvelous with a roast and veggies for a big doll family dinner.

20- this small leaf dish (¾” by 1”) would be perfect for a mini candy dish.

21- not sure if I should call this one a bowl or a plate, but whatever it is adorable and is about ¾” in diameter.

22- this one could be a dinner plate for the dollhouse since it measures just over ¾”.

23- another piece that could be either a tray or a baking sheet depending on how we paint it. 1” by 5/8”.

24- this is a smaller version of #11 measuring ¾” in diameter and about 3/8” deep.

25- this one is the size of a standard dinner plate and should come in handy in many scenes. (7/8” diameter)

26- this oval piece matches #18 (the oval platter) and is either a shallow bowl or a deep platter. It measures 1” by ¾”.

27- I am not as big of a fan of this large flower shaped platter/bowl as some of the other pieces but I think it can be made into something fun. It measures 1 ¼” in diameter.

28- this small kidney shaped bowl is adorable and it measures about ½” by 3/8”

29- this is just a slightly larger version of the last one. This one measures 7/8” by ½” and they would go together on a table filled with similar things so nicely.

30- this divided rectangle serving bowl reminds me of a taco toppings bowl I have in my cabinet. I can see this one filled with 3 different toppings for burgers or tacos on a table in the dollhouse.

31- this tiny plate is just the right size for the dolls to serve a slice of cake on measuring 3/8” in diameter.

32- and finally our last piece is this cute medium size leaf plate. Again a really cute serving piece. This one measures in at about ¾” by ½”.

So my thoughts on this package of goodies. I am very happy with what I got and I think I will most likely buy the same set again after I use some of these in projects. It looks like from the listing on Temu that I got exactly what they show so I can confidently order again to replace pieces I need more of for future projects. At $2.48 for the set that means each piece comes in at less than 8
¢ so a very good deal. I am impressed overall with the quality of the pieces. I did notice that the larger pieces are just slightly thicker than the smaller ones helping to keep everything look more in scale.
